How to get involved
Thank you for clicking on this tab on how you can help and get involved. Fundraising is an extremely important part of what we do at the Rudy A Menon Foundation, and we need your help and support so that we can together continue funding the research on inoperable brain cancers.
Listed here are a few ideas to help you get started. We would love for you to get in touch if you need any clarifications, or if you have an idea you would like to run with. There are various options to collect the amount you raise like by setting up a Just Giving page for your giving being the simplest. It tells people the name of the Charity and has the big advantage of Gift Aid. We could help you with setting that up if you like.

1. Host a coffee morning/A virtual coffee morning
Tell your group of friends a little bit about the charity you are supporting and fundraising for. Ask for their support and gather around the zoom call or the table as the case may be. Charge a fee per head and enjoy chatting and catching up with friends near and far.
2. Consider hosting an ‘Around The Table’ supper club
Food is a wonderful and reliable way to motivate people and to attract them towards your cause. Invite as many people as your home allows, making them aware that you are fundraising for a charity of your choice. Let them know the charges ahead and ask them to pay ahead into the Just Giving page you have set up. Cook them a meal & provide the alcohol to make a marvelous evening of it.
3. The 'Give-It-Up' challenge
We all indulge in pleasures which sometimes we feel are ‘guilty pleasures.’ Motivate a group of friends to choose an individual or communal ‘guilty pleasure’ may it be alcohol, chocolates, ordering in, fried food etc. Set up a time limit for which you all want to be on the wagon, ask them to donate some of the money they have saved by not spending on the ‘guilty pleasures.’ It’s a win-win situation as not only have you fundraised to support the charity, but you have also helped people make some healthy choices.
4. Host a virtual event
In these times it is difficult to celebrate our special days like Birthdays, Anniversaries by going out and celebrating with friends and family. Invite them to a virtual celebration- a virtual Birthday party & ask them to make donations instead of the present they normally would have given you.
5. Hold a virtual cocktail making class
Send ahead a list of ingredients and spirits needed. Get a bar tender or a friend with experience to hold this class and charge people for learning. It’s a great way to socialize and have a good time with friends as you enjoy some drinks together.
